Found the picture

I charged up the battery for my digital camera so I could look to see if I had a photo of the first baby quilts I had made with African Dutch wax fabrics.

This little camera takes good photos and has a lot of features. I found one photo of a baby quilt from 2011. The picture is kind of dark, but this is how made baby quilts from this fabric back in 2011.

Quite a bit of difference with the ones I am now making

I got four more 16-patch blocks sewn together this morning.

I didn't get any sewing done last evening since I didn't get home from work until after 5 and the first thing I had to do was take a shower. I had to help my boss at the hospital put some ceiling tile back in the grid that the contractors had moved. They are not allowed to open up a ceiling, or in other words, move a ceiling tile out of its place in the grid in a public space while patients could be moved thru that space. The ceiling tile that had been moved extended from one side of a temporary wall which was public space to the other side of the wall which was construction space. My boss stood on a ladder on the public side and I was on a ladder on the construction side. The guys had thrown extra leftover tiles on top of other tiles. My boss wanted those extra ones taken down so we could hand them over to the owner. When I was taking them down little crumbs of tile fell on me and all the dirt on the back of the tile rained on me. It was disgusting! I had the dirt all over me. I could feel the debris down my neck and in my bra. I was sweating to beat the band and I could not get home fast enough and into the shower. I didn't have my phone with me so no pictures. So after an long shower and getting some dinner, I was just wanting to do nothing.

I am taking vacation tomorrow and have a full three days of activities lined up. Have a great weekend!

Gosh, we have pictures all over the place. I would not even know where to look for them. The internet is my shoebox, lol.

I like your older quilt with African fabrics too. I have started sewing strips together for my own African/solids quilt thanks to your inspiration.

What a treat to compare your previous quilts with the fabrics to your current efforts. I'm glad you were able to locate them. Have a good weekend.

Isn't it interesting to see how your approach has changed? I like both approaches and how the fabrics look quite wild in the first one but much more ordered now. I hope you have stayed nice and clean this weekend!
