Here is the first of 40 rings that is 100% quilted. I have will have to figure out this weekend how far along I am on getting this quilt quilted. I think I have 5 rings that only need the centers done so I will work on those so I feel like I am making progress.
I had to stop quilting last evening because my fingers were getting sore and I needed to mow. I mowed the front yard, the sides and over half the back before I stopped. I was sweating so bad it was hard to see. It might rain later today so I don't know if I will get the rest of the back done tonight or not. I am taking a day of vacation tomorrow so I am sure there will be time to finish it in the next three days. Mentally I just can't handle working five days in a row yet. I need some Patty time.

You are amazing with how much you get done! I hadn't realized until this quilt that you hand quilt as well as machine quilt. I just started hand quilting some small things and gave myself liberty to just quilt and not worry about the size or evenness of the stitches and I've really been enjoying it!

I wondered how the transition back to a work location was working out. It would feel like going back to work after being on vacation I guess.
Glad you are able to utilize vacation days to ease back into the swing of things. Your quilting is gorgeous! My fingers get sore like that too. I'm not very good at wearing a thimble. I just like to "feel" it.
So the quilt already has the binding on it? Does that make it harder to get it nice and flat? The binding looks great! I'm afraid of doing a DWR because I think that I would have a difficult time getting the curved binding just right.
It rained just enough here tonight so that I didn't have to water things. Yeah! We get a little break on that tonight. I worked in the garden today. I rototilled everything except one last strip. The belt came off my tiller. My handy husband to the rescue... but it's an old tiller from 1996. He had to get out the torch to get the hub off to put the belt back on. Maybe tomorrow I'll finish that one last strip.
I love how this is turning out. What a lovely thing to do for someone. As usual, you are keeping really busy! I've been really busy at the longarm quilting studio. With lots of quilters spending more time at home due to COVID, we have been getting more quilts for longarming than we do prior to Christmas Time. It's been a really busy time and I've been trying to put in additional hours to help the owner out, while also working at my full-time day job. Lots of wonderful quilts being made. We are starting to feel a bit more settled in our new to us home. We are taking this year to get to know our yard and neighbours and have decided to hold off creating planting beds until we know where we'd like to put things. Lots of dappled shade/sunlight. I did plant some sweet peas in planters for the very first time and they are coming up... they're my mother-in-law's favourite flowers, so thought we'd give them a try. Fingers crossed that they will bloom for her this year. We've had a mix of weather during the month of June so far... lovely days mixed in with rain - which is a good thing. Keep the pictures coming - I always love to see what you're up to!
