Same thing - more masks

I got another dozen done yesterday.

I have another 15 that I am working on today.

The neighbor's magnolia tree is blooming. That pine tree I had taken down a little over a year ago seems to agree with the magnolia tree.

This morning I woke up to snow again! It is forecasted to snow Friday too. I need to mow my grass!

A few more made

I am out of elastic so I am back to making masks with ties. I was so tired yesterday I had a hard time keeping my eyes open. I only managed to get 8 masks cut out and sewn. Better than nothing! LOL!!

I am going to have to go thru my stash again to see if I can find more fabrics to use for masks until the fabric I ordered arrives.

More masks

Saturday I spent some time straightening up the fabric storage room and the studio. It looks better, but I have a bit more to do. Otherwise, I worked on masks for work. I managed to make 54 with the elastic from my brother and what I found in my stash.

Here they are in progress. It took me 11 hours to make these.

I will have to go back to making the ones with ties until my elastic order shows up.

Cranking up mask making

At work my only job now is to make masks. They want a lot - 150 now and eventually 300. I got the first 30 with elastic done and handed over with the masks with ties.

I was texting my sister and she said her husband wanted to make masks for his workers. He ordered two roll of elastic. What!? I asked her where and she said - wait for it - ebay! Why it did not dawn on me to look there, well that is a different discussion! I needed more elastic for work so I have 200 yards coming, plus black fabric, a batik for the backside, and thread. I did find odd and ends of elastic so I will use that to get as many masks as I can by Monday.

When I looked at the window this morning it was snowing! The snow is all melted now at and it is sunny out, but the wind is very cool.

More masks, seeds, and elastic

I got another 14 masks made yesterday. So now I have a bag of 20 ready for someone at work to pick up.

Everyday I look to see if there is any sprouting of my seeds and I saw one this morning! Other seeds are swollen and look like they will be sprouting very soon. I will have to get outside and start prepping the area where I will be planting theses. I did get some organic lime which I hope will help keep the squash plants happier than they were last year.

The governor in Ohio is Mike DeWine. He gives a coronavirus update everyday at 2 p.m. and now it is a thing to pour yourself a glass of wine and have wine with DeWine. I don't drink wine so instead I have a Mike's with Mike.

My brother and SIL stopped over yesterday to pu their face masks. My brother wanted elastic on his so while they waited outside I did an alteration on his mask. He has been cleaning out the garage and found 14 yards of 1/2" elastic! I cut a small piece of the elastic and cut it lengthwise. I pulled on it to see how badly it would fray and it didn't fray at all! That means I can make around 69! Glory I am going to be busy!

Mask update and thunder

I got 16 masks made yesterday. Then the phone calls came that where I work wants me to make more - like 150! I plan on doing what I can, but I am only one person. I have now made 29 so I have 121 to make. Yikes! Here are the ones I got done yesterday

I cut out 14 more last night and found a batik I wasn't in love with and will use it for lining the masks

The paper masks the company ordered are not coming until next week so any masks I can produce now will help.

I went to bed late - at least for me - last night and heard thunder rumbling. I check the radar. The pink dot is about where I am located

The 50 minutes later I was in the thick of it! The lighting was fierce and the thunder never stopped. I hid under the covers until it stopped.

Later . . . I have got to get the iron and sewing machine!

Heeding the call

I needed to make more masks for my fellow employees who are out at job sites. I got 6 more made for the civil job. The intern picked then up yesterday - a total of 13 so far for them.

I then cut out the parts for 15 more and got most of the ties pressed and the mask part sewn together and pressed. This is what I will be working on today.

It was an overcast, but warm day yesterday and I decided to go out last evening get some fresh air and clean out one of the flower beds. I also wanted to throw down some fertilizer/weed killer before the rain came in.

While I was cleaning the bed, I waited on hold for the credit card company. My cc number got hijacked yesterday and someone was doing some shopping! $28.79 Walmart.com, $194,27 Boost Mobile, and $998.76 Simple Mobile Phones. The CC fraud department denied the Boost and Simple transactions and they credited my account for the Walmart. A new card is on its way. I have my CC set up that I get a text message for any transactions over $1.00 and that is how I found the issue so quick. Here is the cleaned up bed. I see that I need to transplant some of my Shasta Daisies to fill in the bare spots. The sooner I do that the better since we are going to get rain this week. That way Mother Nature can water the transplants.
