Binding progress and a long bus ride

First I will show the quilt. I have the binding halfway hand sewn on. I like to bind with the quilt on a table and only use a couple pins. As I get to a pin, I pull it out and pin another portion of the binding. I just keep leap frogging two pins as I sew.
Yesterday many of the women in the company took a road trip to visit two of our job sites as part of the Women In Construction Week celebration. I go because I wasn't able to come up with a good enough excuse to get out of it. The organizers hired a smaller charter bus. We started out at the home office and each of us got a goodie bag.
This was my view a good 3 hours of the day.
The first stop was at Davey Tree's headquarters. Last year when we visited only part of the framing was done; for most of the building the foundations were just getting finished. This is a big room for training which includes climbing.
Here is one of the new labs.
There were lots of offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and casual hangout spaces. The event center is a showpiece with the timber framing that came from an old barn on the property.
We headed across four counties to get to the place we have reservation for lunch. They were famous for their muffins - lemon crunch and banana nut. I had a turkey cheddar panini and a cup of the soup of the day which was cheeseburger soup. The soup was really good.
We had a half hour to look around the shop. Prices were on the high side and I didn't see anything that I needed.
The next stop was at a hospital project. Nothing that exciting to take a picture of. We got back on the bus and the lady in charge decided we had enough time to stop for gelato. I got some salted caramel. It was so good!
The place also had cheesecake and other fancy deserts.
I wanted to get one of these boozy milkshakes, but alas, that would not have been a good idea. LOL!!
I am still tired today from being bounced around in that bus for hours.
