Finish line in sight!
I now have 78% of the dark flannel quilt quilted!
I also got 17 blocks for the light pastel flannel quilt sewn together at lunchtime yesterday. I have 15 days to get both quilts done. Yikes!

Dark Flannel quilt progress
I am now 70 percent done with the quilting! Woohoo! I ought to be putting on the binding by this weekend. I won't do the hand sewing though; I will save that to do at work on my lunch hour. I will use my time at home for getting the pastel top put together.
Yesterday at lunch time I started to sew the pastel blocks together, but then the architect called so I spent my entire lunch hour talking to him. Ugh! I only got two blocks sewn together.
I am using my spare machine and I haven't used it much since I bought it. It felt tight when I sewed on it so this morning I brought my oil bottle and oiled it up good! The presser foot would not lower like it should and it took a lot of oil to get it moving properly. I oiled the bobbin area and the shaft that holes the needle and now the machine is purring like a kitten! Here he is waiting for me the put him into action at lunchtime.
I don't care if the Pope calls; I am not answering the phone. I am sewing at my lunch hour today!

Plugging along
Believe it or not I do get tired. After work I stopped at the UPS store to ship the platform cover. The temps had dropped, the wind was howling (it almost knocked me down when I left the doctor's office), and I walked halfway to the store (you have to park out back and walk around the block) when I realized I forgot my mask. So I had to walk back to the car, get the mask on, and head back around the block. Some fellow I passed said to me "That wind sure has a bite to it!" I said, "It sure does!" Anyway, got that shipped, had to strip the bed and wash sheets, cook some dinner, then finally I forced myself to quilt a bit. I got 5 more blocks quilted so I am now 62% done.

Updating the List!
Here is an update to my to-do list I posted a week ago on Nov. 29th. I made some progress! 1. plateform cover - DONE! Yeah! It will be shipping today.
Here it what it looked like at the sewing machine as I was sewing on the edging with the velco.
and here it is on my big table. It was a challenge to fold it and get it into a box. The material is a heavyweight vinyl coated material and the cover measures 99" across.
2. Dark flannel quilt. I have it 59% quilted. I ran thru 25 bobbins yesterday! I was at 18%.
3. baby quilt for my niece. DONE!
4. stocking - DONE!
5. pastel flannel quilt - made progress. I got the rest of the strips I needed for making blocks sewn, pressed, and cut into units for 9 patch blocks. I still have more strips to sew together, but I will do that later. I have the cut pieces paired up and ready to take to work for sewing them at lunchtime. No sewing today though; have a doctor's appointment which will wipe out my lunchtime.
So here is my updated list. I am looking at trying to get done the first four items by Xmas.

Stocking done. Next!
Yeah! I got the stocking finished and it will be going in the mail today. I did use the wreath fabric for the back and I think it looks good.
In order to squeeze in more time at the sewing machine I took my sewing machine to work and instead of doing cross stitch at lunch, I plan on sewing anything I don't need a iron for. Yesterday I sewed the vinyl strips together for the sides of that platform cover and then sewed on the Velcro. So this weekend I just have to sew the side to the top and it will be done!
Today I brought pastel flannel strips for the other flannel quilt I am going to try and get done for Xmas. I can just sew the strips into three strip units then press and cut them tonight. Next week at lunch I can sew blocks together.
This weekend I plan on getting the platform cover done and put some serious time into quilting the dark flannel quilt. Have a great weekend!

Embroidery done!
I couldn't believe it last night I was able to finish stitching that stocking! I rinsed the marks out and left it to dry overnight. This morning I pressed and interfaced it so it is ready for finishing.
I am going to add red piping and use that FQ of wreath fabric for the back.

Stocking progress and batting, lots of batting
With the stitching at lunchtime, after work and this morning, the trees are now done! I am happy with my progress and I know I will be able to have this in the mail by Monday. Here is where I was and where I am
I got the label made and sewn on the quilt for my niece's friend. I will get this in the mail at lunchtime today. The tiny post office in the village where I work is only a mile down the road.
I had ordered a roll of batting on Black Friday on my phone. The order didn't seem to go thru so I messed around until I thought the order was submitted. Well, I ended up with two rolls! LOL!!! Oh, well, I won't have to buy batting for awhile! These are 30 yard rolls.
Along with the rolls of batting they sent a pack of fat quarters with each roll.
I have very few Xmas prints so I was glad to see this cute wreath print. It might go on the back of the stocking.
