Quilt status

The first step for binding the quilt is done. Tonight I will sew the miter corners, trim the excess, and press it. Maybe I will have time to get a few stitches in and maybe not. I do need to mow.
I cut fabric for project bags and a few boxy pouches. I matched up what zippers I had so now I know what colors I need to buy. I have them all stacked in this bin ready to go.
The deer were hanging out back on Saturday and Sunday. There is one momma and three fawns that were born this year. Only two are her's.
Here is the progress I made on Octopus's Garden. I probably spend more time working on it than I should have. LOL!! Here is where I was last Thursday when I posted and where I am now.

Couldn't put it down

I started stitching on the waves and I just couldn't stop. I got in a rhythm with the pattern and just kept going so no quilting was done last evening. Here is where I was before and where I am now on Octopus's Garden.

Moving forward on both projects

I'm now at 82% done with the quilting for the t-shirt quilt. I got a bit more quilted than one shirt. I have about a half of that last red shirt to quilt and another row will be done.
I have been working on the Octopus's Garden at lunch and a bit after work. It is hard to put down. Here is where I was yesterday and where I am now. I am just about done with the kelp motif.

I am now at 77% done with the quilting. Got these two shirts quilted last evening.
I made some good progress on the Octopus's Garden piece too. Here is where I was yesterday and where I am now

t-shirt quilt and Octopus's garden progress, and a show

I made big progress on the t-shirt quilt. It is now 70% quilted!
I did get the octopus finished. The darker legs are more than one color; it is hard to tell in this photo.
Saturday afternoon my nephew's band had a 45 minute show to play at the Akron Blues and Jazz festival. The temp was in the low 60's and we had an easy load-in and out. The crowds moved around town to the different venues as there were many people playing at the same time.
Check out the clouds. Here is a view to the north then to the south. In the second picture to the south, on the left is the art museum. On the right is a parking deck then the main library.
We had a pared down merch table and didn't bother setting up the tent. We didn't sell much, but with many hands (Michael's girlfriend, my SIL, a roadie's girlfriend and me) it was an easy set up and tear down.

Scones, happy mail, and Octopus's Garden

I didn't get any quilting done last evening, but I was busy. I made a batch of scones and did dishes.
The phone rang and I spent almost an hour talking to my son. That was good since I hadn't talked to him for a while. I got some happy mail. There is a blog I read, and the lady was giving away charts that she decided she would never stitch. I threw my name in the hat for three of them and they came yesterday.
I haven't posted the two samplers I finished recently. The one on the left - no, I did not forget to finish the yellow border. I duplicated the original and the border was never finished. These are smaller pieces and I put a ruler in the picture to show the length.
I decided I would pick up Octopus's Garden that I had a small start on. I posted this picture June 18.
It now looks like this
Here is my set up for stitching. I did gray out much of the chart and I had made an enlarged working copy that I could mark off the completed stitches. I did change highlighters from the yellow to peach. I can see the peach better.
My plans for the weekend are to work on the t-shirt quilt and work a show for the band. The show is local so I will drive myself and they only play for 45 minutes. A drum set, bass gear, and a backline will be provided so the amount of equipment will have to unload and load will be minimum.  I was told we are going to have a pared down merch booth too; not sure what that means but I will find out!   If it is not too hot this weekend, I need to try and get some more weeding done. Have a great weekend!

Back to the t- shirt quilt

I quilted a bit more than half of the right border last evening. I am now 35% done with quilting this.

No quilting, but flowers!

I had a hair appointment yesterday afternoon. By the time I got home it was too late to get any quilting done on the t-shirt quilt. I did enjoy seeing the huge pots of flowers on my walk to the hair salon.

5th finish for 2024

The baby quilt is done! I boxed it up and the only time I left the house this weekend was to take it to the grocery store post office. It turned out 46.5" x 55.5"; a bigger baby quilt for sure. I am happy with the way it turned out and I can't wait to hear what the parent's reaction to it will be.
I didn't get as much cleaning as I wanted to get done. I did mow the grass Monday since it was finally cooler. The rest of my time I spent on the t-shirt quilt. It is now 28% quilted. I need to get this to the fellow that wanted this made for one of his sons by October so I will be working on this every day. I outlined in yellow what I got quilted.
