Progress on the Haley quilt
I spent a fair amount of time working on the Harley quilt. It took more time than I thought it would to quilt the center tie dyed shirts, but I am happy with how they turned out. The black shirt above the tie-dyed shirt is done along with most of the black shirts to the right. I have just a little bit to quilt in two of the black shirts to the right. I have some quilting done in the black shirt at the center bottom.
Friday after work I headed to the mall. I wanted to get a couple more charms for my new bracelet since they were still buy 2 get one free. When I finally got there - the traffic was horrible - I saw there were cops cars everywhere! I decided to ask a woman with her kids getting into their car if she knew what was going on. There were gunshots so the mall was getting cleared out. Geeze! This mall is very safe and it turned out to be a 17 year old kid with a gun in the parking lot that shot twice. They caught the kid and no one was hurt. I went a backway home to avoid the traffic on the main road. The mall opened back up a couple hours later, but I waited until Saturday morning to go back and get my charms. I got the purple heart for my baby sister as purple is her favorite color. After all we had just spend a great weekend at a retreat. By the time I left the mall it was packed so people are not staying away because of this incident. There were two other malls in the area and both of them are closed because of violence. I am sure mall management will revisit their security plan. After all, they are spending thousands of dollars putting in new tile floors to spiff up the place.
It stormed Saturday late afternoon - lots of thunder, lighting, and rain - so no mowing happened. Things started drying out Sunday with the sunshine so I worked out in the yard for an hour and a half. Raked up sticks, mowed, and trimmed. I still need to get the thistle pulled before it goes to seed.

Getting that thistle pulled before it goes to seed is a gift to future Patty ;-) You got a lot of quilting done, even if it took longer than you thought. Pretty scary about the shots fired but violence can happen anywhere…..sad state of human existence but true through the centuries. Glad you were able to get the charms you wanted.
