T-shirt quilt progress, snow, more batteries, weekend plans
I got started on another shirt and what is circled in yellow is what I got done. I didn't' have much time last evening to quilt; read on if you're interested.
I left a bit early from work for a doctor's appointment. It had been snowing all day so I wanted to make sure I wasn't late. The highway was sloppy when I first pulled on, but got better as I went north. After my appointment I stopped a couple places that are on that side of the area. I needed batteries for my garage door openers. One of them worked fine, but the other was sketchy. I changed the batteries in both so I should be good. The hardest part was getting the darn batteries out of the package! LOL!!
It was very slow going home. The roads were in pretty good shape, but people were going slow even for me which I don't mind slow in bad weather. I pulled up to the driveway, parked the car, and walked to the garage to get the shovel. I didn't want to pack the snow down by driving over it.
Got the driveway shoveled and went over to my neighbors to help him.
I have one of those orange fiberglass sticks to mark the driveway, but it is hard to see at times against the ornamental grass. I had some pretty garland that I saved from someone's Xmas package they won at the company luncheon, so I wrapped another orange stick with the garland and zip tied it to the one already stuck in the ground. I can see that!
My weekend plans are simple - hem all those pants and work on the t-shirt quilt. I might go to the mall just to get some walking in since it is forecasted to snow all day.

brrr ... we're supposed to get 3-10 inches starting tonight with temperatures dropping to the negatives through monday ... as the Starks like to point out, winter is coming
Have a nice, warm weekend!
I have to agree, some of the packaging is so hard to open it's ridiculous. I'm sure it's an anti-theft deterrent but frustrating for the purchaser.
The cold is coming. I bet you get a ton of quilting done on the t-shirt quilt this weekend. Ha Ha on the battery packaging. The battery was dead in my digital scale today. The weird-sized battery was encased in a blister pack INSIDE the plastic that attached it to the cardboard. The other hard part about batteries is that some things take really weird sizes. It's like a scavenger hunt to find them on the battery thing that turns and turns. Hope all your doc reports come back GREAT! Happy hemming.
Waste not want not! Good idea for driveway marker!
