The hand sewing on the binding is coming along nicely.I am now really liking this piece and the texture ... oh, I just love touching this piece.
A big thank you to everyone who is participating in the giveaway to help lift the spirits of my friend Peg. I personally am going to make more of an effort to mail her cards or an article that I think she would be interested in. We do call each other, but mail in between the phone calls I think will help. Big hugs to you all!

it looks so thin. What type of binding are you using here? Not binding, I meant batting.......silly me.
Sometimes I use a nice quality flannel rather than batting. Here in Louisiana we don't really need heavy quilts and I do like the drape of that nice flannel.

Oh, and you reminded me of something. Years ago, I had a frend and co worker dying of pancreatic cancer. We knew there was no hope so we just visited and kept her in our thoughts constantly.
Of course I am totally into dogs. So I would go to all the places that sold cards and find all the cards with dog on them.
I sent one a day with a message from the dogs on the cards. It didn't matter if they were birthday cards or anniversary cards.
It was the knowledge that someone cared enough to do something. She looked forward to those cards arriving in the mail daily. Her family did too. It was a very very simple yet totally amazing thing.
