Pink quilt progress, t-shirt quilt, fabric order, and a road trip

I can't believe it took me all day Saturday to finish quilting the pink quilt, but it did. This is how much quilting thread I had left.
Sunday morning I sewed on the binding. Later on in the day after working on the t-shirt quilt, laundry, making soup and a road trip, I started hand stitching the binding. I have 3/4 of one side done.
I decided to wash the backing for the t-shirt quilt and get the batting cut. After I laid out the backing on my big table, I was concerned if there was going to be enough fabric. I laid out the quilt top before I put the batting down to check. Look how crooked this fabric was cut!
The website said the backing was 108" wide, but after washing it was only 100"! I know enough that the backing did not shrink 8 inches!
I ended up having to cut off a chunk of the backing (the bottom part in the second picture) and sew it to the other end (the bottom part in the first picture) to help square up the backing a bit. It won't be noticeable after quilting and I slap the label over it. I also had to cut 1 1/2 inches so far off the bottom of the quilt top to make the top fit the backing since I lost a couple inches with the crooked backing.
The next problem was that the design had a curve to it from salvage to salvage.  I tried to straighten the curve, but it was just printed curved and there was nothing I could do to fix that.
The design looked straight from cut edge to cut edge. I decided it would look better to have the straight edge go from the top to the bottom of the quilt so that is how I laid it out. I was not happy having to spend so much time working around all these issues. I am letting the Etsy shop know about this. You need to know what you are doing if you are selling fabric!
I received one of several fabric orders Saturday. This was from Connecting Threads. The red reproduction fabric were a darker red than I wanted, but I will use it eventually.
I did take a road trip to Kent, Ohio, to the Kent State Fashion Museum to see the Nancy Crow quilt exhibit. It was the last day and admission was free yesterday so I saved myself $10.00. I will post about the exhibit tomorrow. I took lots of pictures. You have probably seen most of these quilts as they were from 2014 to 2020. I was kind of disappointed that there wasn't anything more recent.
