11th finish for 2025 - a trip to PA
I had a busy and wonderful weekend. I traveled to Pennsylvania to a freind's house for a fabulous visit, but first my finish. I hand stitched the binding on Sunday after I got home while watching football and after a nap. It measures 36 1/4' x 48".
I left for my friend's house at around 8:30 Friday morning and arrived at 10:30 am. Her husband, her, and I sat and visited for a while then she and I took off to run and errand and pick up sandwiches for lunch. That evening we went to the Elk's for trivia night. We had a bite to eat and next thing I knew a giant birthday cake showed up with my name on it! What a fun surprise! My friend cut the cake up and then proceeded to share it with the entire room. You sit in groups for trivia and there were 11 teams. Once my friend served a group, several of them yelled and waved happy birthday. It was so fun. Trivia started and I actually contributed this year! Last year I was no help whatsoever, but there were a few questions this year that were in my wheelhouse!
My friend had a family member put my name on the back of one of Michael's t-shirts. This is much better than the hand stamped one I had been doing. It was quite a surprise!
Saturday we went out for breakfast and it was so good! On the way back we stopped at a little bakery and bought pastries for Sunday's breakfast. The pastries were delicious - so flakey and not overly sweet. The cream in mine tasted like toasted marshmallows.
On our way we visited a cemetery that was built by German settlers. The was made of stone and rotated in a circle. So cool!
I will continue my adventures in PA tomorrow.

It was great to finally take the time to visit the Harmonist cemetery!
You ended up with a big birthday party! Nice cake. I'm eating the last piece of mine at noon today.
I love the light stripe binding on the quilt.
