A show and the to-do list
Friday evening was the first show of the season with my nephew. The weather was not so good. We got set up and then the rain rolled in. We had to take all the t-shirts down and get everything covered. Meanwhile I didn't bring a jacket and the air was very cool. I had time before the show and walked a block uptown to see if there was someplace I could buy a hoodie. I stopped in an antique store and asked if they knew someplace. They pointed me to a Hospice charity shop across the street where I found a really nice jacket for $15.00. Eventually the rain stopped. The band that played before Michael's had a four piece horn section. The one sax player has a couple of beautiful horns.
The kids did a great job and the crowd that was left enjoyed the show. Michael's girlfriend and I kept busy at the merch booth.
I got to sleep at 2 am so Saturday I was dragging a bit. I did go off list; stuff comes up that needs to be made! Michael's girlfriend has been such a blessing with helping at the merch booth. I was told by someone she likes things with sharks on them so I made her a set of three curved topped pouches and a boxy pouch with shark fabric.
We have new lights at the merch booth and they needed covers to protect them. While I was at it I made a bag for the light cords. I will take a picture of these in action at the next show so you can see how they work. Another item not on the list! LOL!! I put a lightweight iron-on batting between a layer of cotton and flannel. It didn't take long to quilt them with some straight-line stitching. I started these on Saturday and finished them up on Sunday morning.
We need more tote bags for the merch booth so I sewed together the 13 I had cut out. That is just a small dent in the 150-200 I need for all the shows this year. I had better get crackin'!
I got the label made for the Harley quilt, but it still needs sewn on. I will do that tonight and make a bag for the quilt. I will be handing this off on Thrusday.
Another thing not on the list was to cut the strips for a quilt. I saw a picture of this log cabin quilt using a blue striped fabric and loved it. I am going to use up the small yardage and scraps of blue striped fabric I have. Now I just need to find the time to start sewing this together.
To round out the weekend throw in some laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, mowing and trimming. I have a lot more trimming to do and I still need to cut up that tree that fell in the backyard.

How nice that you have a helper in the merch booth. Good luck getting all of those tote bags sewn.
