Scrap-a-palooza day 27, the DNP, and homemade scones

Call me crazy, but the browns, tans, and creams bin is empty. No, I did not throw them away! LOL!!
Here are all the pieces and parts that I got out of that bin. It wasn't packed like that pink/purple one was thank goodness!
Here is the pile of scraps bins when I started this cutting binge 27 days ago. I don't plan on cutting the homespun or African scraps right now which are in those green boxes.
So this is what is left to cut.
I plan on cutting the black and gray scraps next.
I found this bag in the laundry room that I had forgotten about. It is packed full of scraps that a friend gave me. Add that to the pile!
I am making progress on hand stitching the binding. I will work on it while I watch Monday Night Football.
My neighbors stopped in this evening and gave me a tin of homemade scones. I ate one of the lemon poppyseed scones and it was delicious! I gave them the frozen green bean casserole that came in my honey baked ham gift box and when I make pumpkin pie I will give them one. They are just the best neighbors! They helped me out a lot when I was in the hospital.

Scrap-a-palooza day 26 and binding DNP

Finally! The pink/purple bin is empty!
Here are the pieces I cut from the scraps
and some string pieces
I needed a bin for my 3" strips that I will be using for making zig zag blocks so I used the empty pink/purple bin for those. I am feeling good about having a place and purpose for all these bits and parts.
Here is the bin I will attack next - browns, tans, and creams.
I got the binding sewn on the DNP. I will concentrate on getting the hand sewing done on the binding over the next couple of days. It is going to be a long way around this quilt! I like the dark teal for the binding.

Scrap-a-palooza day 24 and 25 and almost done with the DNP quilting

I have been busy on several fronts yesterday and today: working at home, cutting scraps, quilting the DNP, and shopping to finish up odds and ends for Christmas. Here are the scraps and strings I have cut.
Here is what is left for me to sort and cut. This bin seems to never end! I think a couple more hours and it will be empty.
The area circled is what I have left to quilt on the DNP. It is about 2.5 SF to go.  I am going to try and get that done before I go to bed. I will have gone thru 78 bobbins of thread! There won't be much thread left on the cone; I am just glad I had enough to get this done! Tomorrow I will start on the binding. I am so glad to be ahead of schedule on this!

Scrap-a-palooza day 23, DNP status, and snow

I got a few more scraps cut. This pink and purple bin seems bottomless!
I am now down to 22 SF that needs quilted on the DNP. Looks like I am ahead of schedule! Yeah!
We got some snow; maybe 2 inches tops. Here is the track where I sometimes walk to at the high school about a mile from my house. I remember when I was working on this job. It was brutally hot the summer the track was installed. This is where I go to walk when I don't feel like walking up and down hills or dealing with a lot of bad sidewalks.
I got an email from work that since we cannot have the company Christmas luncheon, they would be sending all the employees a honey baked ham gift box. Sweet! I love honey baked ham. The box came today and here is what was in it - yes, that is turkey! LOL!!! Oh well, I am sure it is delicious!

Scrap-a-palooza day 22 and DNP progress

I got that file broken down into smaller files and got them downloaded to the architect - whew!!! I learned a lot and what to do for a couple more jobs that I will eventually closeout. I was able to get a bit more of the scraps cut.
I headed outside in the snow - yes, the snow fell here today - for a walk before I sat down and quilted on the DNP. After I wound another 15 1/2 bobbins, I have used up the first of two cones of King Tut. There are 2000 yards per cone. If I did my calculations correctly, I will have enough to finish this quilt. I now have about 31 SF quilted so I need to get another 5 SF done tonight or I will be behind my goal of 9 SF a day.

Pantone colors of the year

I won't be making a quilt in gray and yellow because I already have! These quilts are from 2013. Was I ahead of the trend? The first one is a baby quilt and the improv striped one is an oversized twin.

Scrap-a-palooza day 21 and the DNP

What a day! I had work to do for my job. I needed to reorganize files on the computer so I could download them to the architect's website. I am working off the hotspot on my phone which is slow. Then I had one huge file that would not open. I spent over an hour doing a remote session with IT to try and get the file to open. To make a long story short, we got the file to open but not in a pdf format. It wouldn't download to my desktop, but I finally figured out to download it to a thumbdrive and that worked! Tomorrow I will break the file down into smaller units. I didn't have much time to cut scraps today, but I did get a few done.
I went for a 4 mile walk instead of quilting. I did get another 5 square feet done while watching the Browns game last night. That got me to 27 S.F. so I am still on schedule.
