T-shirt quilt backing and UFO
I found a piece of backing big enough for the t-shirt quilt. It was the standard off white so I decided to dye it. I was leary of trying to make it a light blue. I thought that if I tried that it would turn out a green since the off white fabric had a yellow cast to it. So I dyed it yellow with a touch of red to get a pale cheddar color since there is cheddar in the top. I am happy with the color. The color in the picture is off, but it was the best I could get.
So while the fabric sat in the dye bath and went thru the wash and dry cycle, I worked on quilting the wall hanging I started when I went to QuiltCon in 2015. I have had this pin basted for a while and it is time to get this UFO done!
At the end of the workshop with the Gee's Bend quilters, we could get our picture taken with the ladies. I asked them to sign my piece; I had brought a black Sharpie just for that reason. They looked at me as asked if I was sure I want them to write on my piece. I said yes! They said that I was the first person that had ever asked them to do that so they were quite surprised, but were happy to do it. I didn't asked for them to date it, but I am glad two of the ladies did!
My goal this weekend is to continue to quilt the GB piece and get the t-shirt quilt pin basted.

Nice projects for the weekend. I've got lots to do in longarm quilting studio tomorrow.
It won't take long to quilt that quilt compared to the monster size one you did in December.

I like your Gees Bend piece a lot, and how clever of you to think of asking them to sign it! Are you mixing your own dyes for your backing fabric?
