In case you wonder where I have been I had an unexpected emergency and had to take last week off. It's all good. What I did get done was the double wedding ring quilt! Yeah!!!! It turned out 59" x 91". I labeled it, washed it, and it is now ready to be turned over to the owner. The colors are dark in this picture, but I was just not that concerned about a perfect picture. I am just glad it is done and soon to be out of my life!
I will show you a couple before pictures. This is how the quilt was bound when it was handed over to me. Yes, someone rolled the backing over the front and zig zagged it!
How I bound it. I think a bit better if I do say so myself!
These pictures show how badly the quilt was pieced and it was falling apart. I think this was the last quilt the lady had pieced and her skills had diminished. I had seen another quilt the lady had made and it was impeccably made.
I did also manage to get the 16 patch quilt pin basted.
I made a step up box out of scraps.
Made 5 masks for a fellow at work.
And decided to get out an old piece of cross stitch that needed finished. I have no idea why I didn't finish it in 1999. I will work on this a lunchtime since I have the DWR quilt done. Here is where it was and where I am at now.
We did get some much needed rain yesterday. We could use more, but at least the plants got a drink of rain water instead of tap water.

I am sorry about your emergency, I have been having a lot of them lately! Glad you are OK. That pink quilt is amazing, you did such a wonderful thing bringing it back to life. And I like your embroidery !
You beat your deadline on the double wedding ring quilt and it looks great. The owner should be thrilled with it.
My plants would love some rain water. I need to go out and water the tomato plants now.
Woo hoo, yippee, happy feet, hooray!!! Finished, done, complete, mission accomplished! Congratulations :) Your binding is beautiful :) I did miss seeing updates so glad it wasn't because you weren't making progress. Hope all is well.
Yaaaayyyyy! It's done! It reminds me of when I had that stupid cat cross stitch that I worked on and finally finished several years ago. Like you I couldn't wait to get it out of my house!
I used to think I'd make fabulous quilts when I was old. Now I realize my skills and eyesight and hand control are slipping a bit every year. I'll end up like the DWR lady. Sigh.
Congratulations on a good repair, finish. Great binding, too.
Congratulations on a great finish! That one was a lot of work, and you did an amazing job! I have finally managed to get some sewing done - charity quilts that had been "pending" since before we moved to our current home. I can now say done on three of them! Also scored a beautiful new-to-me sewing/embroidery machine that should be arriving tomorrow or Wednesday. Found it for sale online, and got it at a very reasonable price. I'm excited to give it a try. We've been getting really warm weather the last tthree days, so that's been nice. Glad for the central air in our home... it sure helps! Glad you got some moisture... it was helps with the yards.
You sure have been busy. Great work on the DWR quilt.
Congrats on getting the DWR done!!! I'm glad you found a fun project to stitch at lunch. Keeping those hands busy is a good thing. We still need rain here too.
I like the masks you made for your co-worker. Looks like he's got one for every work day of the week now.
