Quilt picture
I finally got a picture of the quilt I gifted. I must have made this 20 years ago, but never used it. It now has a home.
I have too many things on the to do list this for this weekend. I'm tired just thinking about it! LOL!! Time to buckle down and get a few things crossed off! Have a great weekend!

Picking thread, another tote bag, ladies' party
I pulled from my stash of thread what I will need for the t-shirt quilt. Lots of colors!
I haven't gotten the picture of the quilt yet. However, one of the ladies loved the bag I had gifted the quilt in and I told her I could make her one. I did that last evening. This is an upholstery weight fabric.
We had the ladies' Christmas party at a Japanese restaurant. I had sushi - yum! My gift was a cast iron pie pan and a candle that smells wonderful! I will be burning the candle over the holidays when I am on vacation, relaxing and sewing.

Tote bag and label
At work we had the women's Christmas party today. Last night I needed to make a tote bag for my gift and put the label on the quilt I was giving. Lunch was wonderful and the recipient loved the quilt. She had several suggestions, and one was a blanket. She got a quilt instead.
I didn't realize I didn't have a picture of it so the lady I gave it to will take a picture tonight and I will post it tomorrow. It is a blue and tan log cabin.

T-shirt quilt progress
All pin basted! I needed about 15 minutes this morning to finish up the pin basting. Tonight I will have to pull out quilting thread and wind some bobbins so I can start quilting.

Ready to pin baste
I was away from the house all day Saturday visiting family. I didn't get back to the house until 5:30 and by then I was tired. I did finish the t-shirt top on Sunday and it is now ready to pin baste.
Besides laundry and cooking, I got started on wrapping the presents for the Annual Chirstmas Eve What-a-palooza. Everyone takes turns picking out a item and then opening it up. You never know what you might get! It is a lot of fun and it is something entertaining to do with the kids besides watching TV and it gets them off their phones. I need to collect more empty boxes so I can wrap the rest of the stuff.

Border progress
The left border was sewn and attached
Here is how I joined the border sections together. I overlapped two sections and made sure they were straight.
I sliced thru the two sections.
Sewed the sections together and pressed the seam open. I added on the two remaining sections the same way then trimmed the border piece to the width I wanted.
After I sewed the border to the body of the quilt, I nipped off the corners of the seam in the seam allowance. I find this gets rid of a bit of the bulk. It seems like this wouldn't be necessary, but I find it does make a difference.
The right side border is sewn and trimmed so it is all ready to sew on the body of the quilt. So you know what I will be doing this weekend! Yes, finishing this top, pin basting and hopefully start quilting. Have a great weekend!

Rolling along!
No messing around last evening! I wanted to get that last border for the top of the quilt sewn together and I did! I really like how it turned out.
Tonight I will concentrate and try to get at least one of the side borders sewn onto the quilt top. The border improv sections I made a couple weeks ago still need sewn together and then trimmed before I can sew them on the sides.
