My goal for April was to get the R.E.M. quilt top for my entry for the Akron Art Prize put together. I got the top half put together which as I talked about in yesterday's post was an accomplishment with everything that was going on last month. This month's goal is to get the top finished and machine quilted. The current state of the quilt top

I was busy this weekend. Saturday was shopping. I had a list of things I needed for all the home improvement projects - Lowe's for 4 gallons of paint, roller covers, weed and feed, grass seed, Home Depot for closet shelf tracks, head rail, and shelf brackets, Michael's for frames, Earth Fare for salmon on sale, Malley's for a bit of chocolate, and gas all in the pouring rain.

I had a 60% off coupon at Michael's so I bought a four pack of 8X8 frames and framed these two items. The heart piece was done by my baby sister for Valentine's day this year. The other piece was a copper etched print on handmade paper I got at the art museum when the college students were giving demonstrations. It was free!

Saturday I received my doll quilt in the mail from the Humble Quilt doll quilt swap. I forgot to measure it but it must be about 22" by 22". Mary from WI was my secret quilter. Isn't it wonderful? There were even little Dresden plate pieces sewn on the label!

Mary also included 2 FQ's and two templates in the package! I am going to have to up my game next swap and include some other goodies in my package! LOL!!

In January the weather was exceptionally warm and I transplanted my cora bells from out front when they get full sun and are not happy to beside the garage where they will get mostly shade. Here is what they looked like in January

and here is what they look like now. They are happy!

On this morning's walk in the school parking lots I hit the motherload! I couldn't pick up the coins fast enough! Most days I am happy if I find a penny or a dime or find a decent pencil or two in the middle school lots.

I think I should move some of my coral bells too after seeing how well yours are doing. I have a nice pile of compost to mix in thanks to my neighbors.

Not too many of us still pick up change. I wondered if you'd have more if you were in the hs lot? Good luck with the OMG for this month.

It was fun to send my quilt from Washington State to Ohio. Have fun with the mini easy angle and companion rulers.
