AHIQ project and Thanksgiving plans

It is that time of the month to post another AD Hoc Improv Quilt project. I have this piece I made for a challenge and it was not accepted so therefore I didn't bother finishing it. LOL!! The entire top is made with improvisational pieced triangles including the maroon and navy areas. This piece is 42.5 inches wide by 41 inches high. This piece is also on my UFO list so I could kill two birds with one stone!

I have not been invited anywhere for Thanksgiving, but that's ok since I have lots of things to do and I won't have to spend the time baking pie or cheesecake.

I want to finish the tea towel quilt which was last month's AHIQ project. I am still not sure which fabric I will use for the binding. I agree that it needs to be a print.

I have a baby quilt that needs quilted and bound so I can send it to my sister in Georgia for a friend who just had a baby. I don't expect to get it done, but at least get started on it.

And if there is a glimmer of warmer temperatures I need to finish up a few things outside. If I have any extra time I want to finish painting the living room. It has been half painted for two years and I am tired of looking at it. More than likely I have bit off more than I can chew, but that is the way I roll!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I am invited to my DIL's family dinner but I won't stay long. I would be just as happy staying home and sewing.

Good luck on all of your projects. Sometimes finishing goes faster than you think it will.

I like the optical illusions on your first UFO - they way you lined the zigzags up and changed the greys. Also love the tiny bits of yellow. Good luck binding the tea towel quilt. I think I like your first choice: the black with tan leaves. But I could easily go with the reds. You can't lose IMO.
Have a lovely quiet Thanksgiving.

Almost forgot. Thanks for linking these intriguing improv quilts with AHIQ.

Oh girlfriend......I am having dinner out in a restaurant with my friends who never had children. Having only one child, you have to share her with the "in-laws". I never have understood why they don't realize that she is all the family we have and would appreciate an invite to holidays with her. Having no kitchen, I have no control of my fate either. So the four of us will go out to eat........I wish you could join us!

I hope you have a lovely peaceful day. I like your triangles a lot - an interesting palette and you have been clever with your colour placement. Also, I'm still keen to see your tea-towel quilt finished! Thanks for sharing on AHIQ too.

Well, I really love that black leaf fabric for the binding -- no question! It's going to be really gorgeous. I hope you had a great day of sewing!

I'm late to this month's AHIQ (as per!), so belated Happy Thanksgiving! It's interesting to me that we're both sharing improv triangle quilts and how one simple shape can make so many incredible permutations. The colours you've used instantly made me think of Amish quilts, such an atmospheric palette. I love it!
