What am I done with? Challenges. The here are my two Farm to Fabric challenge projects that were not accepted.
I do have the Michael Miller challenge that I already promised I would participate in so I will honor my commitment, but that is it - no more. Universe - I got the message - my work is not wanted.
I got 16 out of the 30 blocks quilted on the gray and purple Halloween quilt.
I took a vacation day on Friday. The garage door repairman came and fixed my door. He replaced both springs so now I am back in business. This morning I noticed that one of my headlights is out. Darn, one more things I need to get fixed.
Saturday night the band had a gig. They played from 8 to 11 p.m., but I got there about 5:45 to help unload the equipment. The show went great. I sold a bunch of CD's, t-shirts and guitar picks.

Aw, I am sory your pieces didn't get chosen. They look wonderful to me. You have a good sense of color and design.......maybe there should be a few more challenges before you give up!!!
Great job on your finishes, and you know I love that Halloween quilt!
I like your quilts a lot, especially the first one. You never know what criteria they are looking for so it's best to do them for yourself. If you like them and enjoyed making them then you won. If not, you are right to not do any others. For me it's not specific challenges that I enjoy but I really benefit from deadlines!
Great news! Your purple piece has been accepted to hang in the Stephanie's Apartment Quilt Show! No need to mail it in; you can just give it to me next week.
From what I gather from other quilters' comments, you can just never tell what those contests are looking for. Nationally known art quilters have pieces rejected, too. I mention this as I don't want you to be too downcast about this.
I am just tired of these places begging for people to enter and then you find out that they are only accepting a very small number. They should at least post the losers pieces somewhere. Quilters everywhere need to band together and boycott!

oh, i love your courthouse steps quilt. the other one looks promising for colorful loveliness. sorry they weren't included; i wouldn't know why not. will post some shots of the exhibit on my blog after my trip to Houston so that we can judge later. xoxo
