Busy weekend of sewing.
Here are four PBs and four TBs I made to give to the designers at the retreat.
These 11 TBs are finished. Seven will be table gifts and the others are extras.
The Hulk was getting a workout this weekend. I got the snaps in these four TBs.
I still have these that need snaps.
I had designated Sunday for working on scissor pouches. First I had to gather up the various piles to get them organized. I wanted to get a count so I had an idea of how hard I needed to focus to get these done. My plan is to give one to everyone at the retreat. I had 9 done.
I had this pile of pieces that were interfaced and marked.
I have a cardboard template so that I mark the opening in the same place every time. This opening is used to turn the pouch - dah - and for the label. I also use this template for where to punch the holes for the snap.
So out of this pile I got 23 which are now sewn and trimmed.
There was another pile of pieces interfaced, but not marked.
There were 32 in that pile which are sewn and trimmed now.
I had this pile of pieces with no interfacing.
I needed to cut interfacing pieces using that same template. I ended up with 23 more sewn and trimmed pouches.
Here is the pile of 78 pouches ready to be turned. This will be a good project to do at lunchtime this week.
There was also a pile of 14 pouches ready to be finished.
They got pressed and I topstitched each of them along one side and the top flap. I then wanted to see how long it would take me to finish one of these.
I punched the holes for the snap in one of the pouches using my template. Here I am just showing approximately where the holes get punched.
The next step is to attach the snap in the body of the pouch, slip in the label and fold.
I top stitched the side which also secures the label. All that is left to do is install the other half of the snap and it's done!
So if we are counting, that makes 10 done and 190 to go. I also made a pot of soup and had football on while I sewed.
