Pink binding is done, quilting thread purchase, bunkhouse quilts, new hard hat
No messin' around last evening! I got the binding done on the pink quilt! All it needs is a label. Once I get the label on I will hang it up and get a picture.
I received my package from Superior Thread. They had some colors of King Tut on sale for 60% off. Now that is a deal! $10.99 spools for $4.40 - yes please! The blue thread was 50% off.
While I was straightening out my quilting thread to find a place to put my new spools, I decided to pull out the colors I need for the t-shirt quilt. Looks like I am going to have to get some black thread. That one cone is a dark gray and that will work. I plan on starting to quilt the t-shirt quilt this weekend.
As I have said I want to make some of the quilts I saw in the Yellowstone series. Here is Beth's quilt. Notice that the binding is pink. That is what I bought that gray fabric from Two Bees Fabric for.
Then there is Lloyd's quilt. I bought the chedder and blue Kona for this quilt. I plan on going thru my vintage fabrics to make the 9 patches. I didn't start taking pictures until about the third or fourth season episodes, so this is as much as I have right now. I plan on rewatching all the shows over the holiday break so I may see more of this quilt in the earlier episodes. If not, there is enough here I can figure out what to do.
This Jacob's ladder block was shown on more than one cowboy's bunk. It was on Jimmy's bunk
Then Walker used it - yes, along with his girlfriend
Then it made an appearance on a top bunk. Notice again pink binding; a darker pink than Beth's, but pink binding again.
There were a couple other quilts that I only saw snippets of
This one on Colby's bunk - the bottom bunk - looks like a mish-mash of random pieces.
At work we are getting new hard hats; the old one is gray. The company is going with ones that have chin straps so if you fall your hat won't fly off. I don't wear one that often. Once in awhile I will go out to the job site when they are pushing the next section of the bridge, but that's about all the time I spend on site.
Your gray fabric looks perfect for Beth's quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the stripe binding on the pink quilt.
Thanks for the photos of the bunk quilts. I haven't watch that series. That's a great deal on the thread!
