Pink Scrap Chevron top - almost done!

I finished piecing together the two half of this chevron quilt and then got started on joining the two halves together.
When sewing this design together you sew the two halves first by starting at the bottom and working your way up. When joining the halves together, you start at the top and work your way down. The blue line indicated the next seam I need to sew.
I am anxious to get this first quilt done out of my scraps for 2022. I have made many quilts out of my scraps over the years, but it never seem to put a dent in the old scrap pile. Since it has been a long time since I used any significate amount of scraps, the pile has grown. I got a text from my sister and she told me that baseball themed fabric would be great for the baby quilt and a quilt for the soon to big brother would work. These quilts are item 5 on my TO-DO list. I checked my stash and here is what I found for baseball themed fabric.
I have no idea what I am going to make as far as the design, but it looks like I might have to keep my eyes open for some other baseball themed fabrics. I am taking a day of vacation tomorrow to get some trades to the house. The furnace guys are coming to replace my A coil, the electrician is coming for miscellaneous things that need his touch, and I have an appointment to get the new tires put on the car and a front end alignment. After that my plans are to finish up the pink scrap top, work on the dark flannel, and if the flannel arrives I will put the binding on the small quilt I fixed. I have a friend coming on Saturday to hang out.  She wants to help me with my sewing projects so I have a feeling that pressing all those flannel blocks I have already sewn into 9 patch blocks is what I will have her start on.  That will be very helpful!  Have a great weekend!

  1. The pink chevron is pretty. I haven't done a braid join like that for a long time. First saw it in a Georgia Bonesteel book and had to try it.

  2. I think you could put some solids with those baseball prints and have great quilts. Good luck with your home repair day. We've been doing quite a bit of that here in the past few months. Right now I need to get out ad pick up a lot of tree trash from the snowstorm but we might get another storm before I can get to it.

  3. I've never done that sort of join - it looks like a fun sort of challenge to get to grips with. I wish I had someone who would come and do quilty chores for me!

  4. Your Pink Chevron is delightful. I've never tried one of these but they certainly look fun. Good luck with the baseball quilt. Would you like my pattern for a player.
