I got my new mower put together on Sunday and took it for is maiden voyage last night. Here is my old mower that I bought in 1985. It still works great if you can get it started. I think I have gotten my money's worth out of it.
Here is my new DR Power battery powered mower.
All I have to do to start it is to push the button in and pull the wire safety handle back. What a joy not to have to pull a cord!
It was hot last evening - 80 - 81 with the humidity around 70% - so after an hour I just couldn't mow one more inch. I got the front done, one side, and most of the back. I still have along one side and the rest of the back to do, but that won't take very long. The sweat was pouring off of me and I just wanted to get into the A/C. The grass in the back was LONG! I'm talking 8 inches at least, but the mower handled it with smaller swipes. I was impressed and it took me a lot less time to get the amount done that I did with the new mower. I am a happy camper and so glad I made the investment. I will mow more often since I know it won't be a battle to get the mower started.
Sometimes we put off buying a new item. I just don't know why. As an example, Terry has more tools than anyone I know. Most were bought back in the 80s and 90s. It seems like every time he needs a screwdriver he can't find the right size. He has them all but which garage is it in. So when I saw a local store had a 100 pc set of screw drivers I said lets go, I have something I want you to see. He thought it was a great set which came in a holder that could be hung on the wall. Glad you bought a new mower.

Congrats on a battery powered mower. I used to have a hand mower that I loved, they way it cut and the whishing sound of the blades.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you like your new mower. Mine is 18 years old, same brand and still running great. It will probably be the last mower you will ever have to buy.
