Progress on the next baby quilt

I had to go get my hair cut after work so most of my evening was gone. Traffic was awful coming home. I only managed to have enough time to sew together one row of pieces. Look how much it shrank! This row is only 36" wide.

I decided I will be adding two more strips so the width would be 41". I only had time to stick them on the design wall and add to the other rows also.
I will have to try and get in a little sewing before I have to go out and mow tonight. The back yard is looking pretty bad.

I saw a group of six yellow finches at work this morning. Here are two sitting in the tree. I am taking this picture thru a tinted window and the tree is about 25 - 30 feet away. They were cute to watch, but they didn't hang around for very long.

  1. I rarely see the goldfinches except when the coneflower seeds are drying up in the fall. I tried the thistle seed sack feeders but the squirrels destroyed them.

  2. I am always amazed at how the quilt “shrinks” as you start to put it together. Those quarter inches do add up I guess.

    Love the yellow spots!

  3. They are really yellow! Quite different from our goldfinches, though both are very pretty.
