I still feel awful. I have been able to manage the symptoms, but that's about it. Saturday I spend the day cleaning my messy laundry room. I tried to be brutal and got rid of a lot of stuff. I found a few items for donation. I also cleaned up the studio which was a mess too. I can now walk thru both rooms without tripping on stuff.
Sunday I worked on the wool quilt. It took some real work to get the back put together. The wool blanket did not lay flat at the edges and I had two large holes I needed to patch. I had to add to the length and the width of the blanket with wool yardage I had to get the back big enough. The quilt is now pin basted, bobbins are wound, and the sewing machine is all ready to go to free motion quilt it. I think I will just use a large meander.
I also got the binding cut out.
I have 10 days to get this done.
I think a very large meander is a great idea. This is already going to be heavy with the wool and dense quilting might make it too stiff. He's going to love it!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are feeling better soon.
We are fighting the same cold, Patty. If we lived closer I'd wondered who infected whom.
ReplyDeleteYou are a champion of neutrals. I love the way you mix black, brown, grey and white. This reminds me of your Chinese Coins quilt. Meander quilting sound like a good solution. I always think the curved stitching strengthens the quilt - fewer popped threads when it's used.
Get better soon.
Oh....I never thought of that, Ann! Sorry that you are soooo sick still. Did you freeze some of your chicken soup? Love the way that quilt is turnnig out. I think I. Need to pay you to kit up fabrics and The pattern for me and stop doing it on my own! I just love all your stuff,
ReplyDeleteI think a large meander is best too. That way it will still be soft and flexible to wrap up in.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better soon.
Your wool quilt will be a beauty. Sorry to hear you are under the weather and it is not even flu season yet. THey say it will be brutal this year so for the first time I am thinking of getting the flu shot. Do you get one?
