My weekend in Charm

I was out the door Friday morning at 5:45 a.m. to head to Charm to work at the anniversary sale at Miller's Dry Goods. The line started forming at 7:45 a.m. - we opened at 8 a.m. Wow, what a crowd. At fabric, books, patterns, notions, batting, thread, interfacing and much more was 30% off. I had my own cutting table this year and all four cutting tables were busy from 8 to 12:30! It finally slowed down a bit so we could get some lunch. We were steady busy the rest of the day. Saturday was busy but not crazy like Friday was. On Friday there were three checkout lines and there had to be 10 to 15 people constantly in each line. The bargain basement had three cutting tables and all those customer had to come upstairs to check out. It was crazy!

So what did I buy? Well, I wanted to get some yellow fabric to go with a piece of fabric I already had and some dark gray fabric with just a touch of olive to go with some prints I already have.

They had gotten in some of that spider web fabric I wanted and I picked up some remnant backing fabric.

I got these remnant pieces that will work for different baby quilts.

Then I bought a gallon of Best Press. The last gallon I had had lasted me about 3 years. I was getting low and I figure I might as well buy it at 30% off.

I got home on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. and I was tired! I messed around a bit, unloaded the car and went to bed. Sunday I trimmed up the blocks for Homespun #4

did some laundry and then went outside to work on the front yard. I trimmed it first then got out the mower. It took some work, but managed to get the mower started. I then planted my flower seeds, fertilized, and power washed the mower which I have never done. There was a lot of grass gunked up around the throttle. After it dries out I will WD40 it and hopefully it starts easier the next time.
