Ants, ducks, and t-shirts

Ants - yesterday I kept finding these tiny ants running across my desk. They were driving me crazy. I didn't think I would have an insect problem with the new trailer, but I did. I went home at lunch and made a small batch of equal parts of powdered sugar and borax soap. The ants are attracted to the sugar and take the soap while they are at it. The borax soap make the ants poop themselves to death. It worked right away. Instead of them climbing up my desk they all headed to the piles of sugar/soap.

We got lots of rain yesterday and it filled the temporary pond on the job site. Three Mallard ducks were having a good time swimming in the water - two males and one female.

I played around with the t-shirts a bit last night and again this morning. I may have to just look at this a bit more before I dive in and start sewing together the other half of this piece. I will be adding some denim between the shirts too.

Ants drive me nuts. I keep a gallon sprayer of insecticide ready at all times.

Ants have been invading my house, but mostly just in the kitchen. Yuck!!! The borax will be on my shopping list today. Have a T -shirt or 4 to make at my house someday.

I have had ants in my kitchen several times this winter. Luckily they stay on the floor where I can poison them and never get up on the counters.

Every once in a while we get those tiny sugar ants in the kitchen. I do the borax thing too. But.....it also draws bassets quite well......
