Chinese Coin quilt progress

I decided to just make a lap sized quilt and stopped when it was 62" x 70". I got it pinbasted on Sunday and started the quilting. I decided to quilt lines using different colors of Sew Sassy thread which I bought from Superior Threads last year. They are a 12 wt. thread and I think I bought a spool of every color.

My idea for this quilt was to lay a colored grid over the top of the black, grey, and whitish fabrics.

Yesterday I spotted one crocus that the deer missed.

I made these shortbread cookies with chocolate for the guys at work. The recipe was way off on the number of cookies it would make and how thick to cut the cookies. Don't know if I will make this again, but I made some notes on the recipe just in case I would decide to make them again. The guys tasted them this morning and they liked them.

I have used the 12 wt. thread too and like the look of it in straight line quilting. I think the colored grid will be a nice secondary design.

I just like all the quilts you do. I guess I should let you plan my future quilts!

What a great range of colours! I like quilts that sort of size: good to sit with but big enough to stick on top of a bed as an extra layer too.
