10 degrees - its a heat wave!

I am sick of this weather! I know there are people that are having it a lot worse than me like in western New York, but I am just beat down with fighting it. Last night I went home and the pipes to the downstairs bathroom sinks are frozen - crap! I turned up the heat in the house and put my little space heater in the bathroom - nothing. I left the heat up in the house and will go home a lunchtime to check on it. I am crossing my fingers that the part of the pipe that is not frozen has enough expansion room that I don't get a busted pipe.

Then this morning it was fighting with the garage door again. It is really hard to open a double wide steel door with just brute strength. Then the door would not stay up so I had to prop it open with the only 2 x 4 I could find. It wasn't a full 8' 2x4. I had to eyeball it to see if I could get the car out of the garage. Thank goodness I have a sports car that is low. I had about 4 inches of clearance under the door to the roof of the car.

SO after I got the car out of the garage, I had to go back into the garage and lower the door by hand trying not to have it slam down. I went out the man door, walked around the garage and back into the car. What a pain! This spring I am going to do whatever it takes to get some to fix that stupid door. I am not going to deal with it one more winter. I always have problems with the door opening when it gets down to the low 30's.

I know it is suppose to get warmer by the end of this week, but for me that can't come too soon. My boss told me this morning the boiler pipes broke at his daughter's apartment and her clothes are now frozen to the floor. She is back staying at his house until she can find another apartment. Yes, that is worse than a malfunctioning garage door.

Here is a picture I have been meaning to post of a lights on a tree. I drove by this tree everyday on my way to work. The lights must be 40 feet up this tree.

Here is the progress on the baby quilt.

After reading your post I can't think of anything to complain about. Hope it gets better soon. Great quilt, great tree.

So sorry you have cold problems. We we up to 38 by noon, the first time we have been above freezing in three days!

I hope you warm soon and your clothes don't freeze to the floor!
