The humidity ...

well, it had gotten the best of me and the yellow and gray quilt. It was so humid in the house last evening I had to turn the A/C on. The quilt was so damp I just couldn't work on it. Here are the two humidistats I have. They read differently, but the humidity was still high. At 5 p.m. the reading were just under 75% and the other over 75%.

After the A/C ran the humidity levels dropped and were a bit over 60% on the left humidistat and at 75% on the right.

This morning here is what they read. They both went down a bit more. My lower level is a slab built back in the day when builders did not put vapor barrier down before they poured the slab. I don't have a basement. I get a lot of ground moisture vapor that seeps thru the slab so the lower level is always more humid than the upstairs. The floors also stay cool so as the humidity and temperature go up, the floors get moist. I can feel the difference now even though the humidity seems still a bit high.

We had a thunderstorm blow thru this morning at 2:30 a.m. The lighting was fierce! It only lasted about 15-20 minutes, but it did dump quite a bit of rain. It is overcast this morning and I think we could get more rain which we need.

I did stop at the library after work and I am excited about this book. I am participating in a challenge on 15 minutes to play to turn a picture into an piece inspired by that picture so I think this book is just the ticket.

This is my inspirational picture. That is Bret Michaels at the Nautical stage in Cleveland at the Rib Cook Off. I really like the bridge in the background.

I am taking a half day vacation today to tackle this list that I want to get done before Peg comes this weekend. I want to relax with her and have a good time just sewing so I need to get this stuff out of the way.

We have no been quite humid here for the last couple of days. However, we are not as humid as most people believe! We hang around 50 to 75 most of the time unless a storm is coming.

I have that book and I love it.

I didn't see that challenge at 15 minutes. But I really don't need another project!
