Busy times

I only got started quilting on the next block. I just had too much stuff to do last evening.

Today is trash day so I had to gather up anything I had. I also wanted to clean two pineapples and peel and freeze the bananas that were very ripe. I don't put the pineapple and banana skins in the garbage disposal. Then I got out my new colander - well, that I what I bought it for although it was shown to be used on a grille for cooking veggies, shrimp, or anything smaller that would fall thru the grille.

Here is how I would wash grapes in the past in a regular colander - the grapes all piled up on each other. I would have to shake them around to make sure they all were washed.

Here are the grapes in the new colander all laid out in a single layer. After washing then I could easily dry them a bit by laying a towel on top and gently rolling the grapes around.

This item is all stainless steel and has a very heavy wire cage that keeps the bottom perforated surface off the sink.

It was good to get the fruit cleaned to make is easier in the morning when I am in a hurry to make my breakfast smoothie.

Ingenious! I was actually looking at the grilling baskets this past weekend! I decided not to get it for grilling. I may have to rethink that decision.
