Stick a fork in me I'm done ...

Well at least I am finally done for now with that huge front round bed! I had to reset all the edging, dug out the grass and weeds, then I transplanted some day lillies and cora bells and spread the sweet peet topping. I only took my 3 and a half hours last night! Man, was I tired!

Unfortunely what spurred me to do the gardening last night was that when I went to check on the bunnies after work, the mother had moved all of them (I think they were getting too big for the nest) and I found one that had died. I took a picture of the sweet little thing, but decided against posting it. So I gave it a little funeral. I dug a deep hole, said a Buddhist mantra, and transplanted one of my day lillies over it. Yes, I did shed a few tears - how did I get so attached so quickly?! Eventually I expect to see the rest of them running thru the neighborhood and that will make me feel better.

So it is the weekend and I plan on getting a lot of stuff done. I have a pile of scrap wood from the bathroom remodeling at the side of the garage that needs to be cut up so I can put it in the garbage bins. The pieces are too long to fit in the bins so I will drag my chop saw out to the garage to cut it up. Then I want to get the flower bed in the back yard cleaned up and topped with some sweet peet and lastly start pinning the Millennium quilt. Hope you all have a good weekend!

The bed looks wonderful! So sad about the bunny. I would have done the same thing as you. Poor little thing.

Your flower bed looks great. what is sweet peat? I redid my flower beds 6 years ago and they are so overgrown but I don't know that I have it in me to do a total redo.
